OSU Holds Bike Safety Campaign

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Daylight Saving Time is coming up this weekend, and it’s going to get harder to see bicyclists earlier in the day.

That’s why Oregon State University held a bike safety campaign Wednesday to reach out to bicyclists to make sure drivers can see them.

Be bright and be seen–that’s the message their spreading.

Benny the Beaver even made an appearance. Volunteers handed out free reflectors and lights to bikers and pedestrians.

“I would encourage people to always bring reflective material; clip them onto the jackets they wear; that sort of thing. Just whenever they go out. That way it becomes part of your safety routine,” said campaign volunteer Kegan Sims.

The campaign also reaches out to drivers, asking them to always be on the lookout for bikers and pedestrians.
