OSU Named “Best Buy” School

CORVALLIS, Ore. — College tuition continues to rise. So when it comes to choosing a school, you want to get the best bang for your buck.

The Fiske Guide to Colleges ranked Oregon State University as one of its “Best Buy Schools” because it offers excellent academics at a relatively moderate cost.

Estimated tuition and fees for the 2013-14 school year at OSU is $8,500 for resident undergrads. Students say the price is worth it because of the university’s great programs.

“It was a really good deal because I got some scholarships, and it’s got a really great engineering program. It’s also a research university. Not a lot of universities offer research position, especially as undergrads,” said OSU sophomore Talia Helman.

The University of Oregon also made the list.

Fiske reviewed more than 300 colleges in the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom to compile its list.
