CORVALLIS, Ore.– Police are investigating the death of Oregon State University student, Matthew Anderson. He was a senior, studying construction engineering.
On Monday evening, Corvallis Police and paramedics rushed to Anderson’s home after his girlfriend called 911 to report he wasn’t breathing. Paramedics performed CPR and took Anderson to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Corvallis Police won’t reveal the cause of death, but neighbors tell KEZI 9 News that Anderson may have been using inhalants when he died. The university is offering crisis counseling for students and faculty.
“We provide counseling services. In some cases that could be as personal as psychological counseling services. We really work to show that this is a community that comes together to support family, coworkers, and friends,” said OSU Spokesperson Steve Clark.
