CORVALLIS, Ore. – There was some extra traffic around the Oregon State University campus Tuesday as students moved into the dorms.
A total of 4,700 students will be moving into the residence halls between Tuesday and Wednesday. New this year, incoming freshmen were required to live in the dorms, so more students will be on campus this year.
More than 500 volunteers are on campus helping students with the move-in, everything from navigating them around campus to unloading their cars. Students say it was a busy day.
“It’s been hectic. Parking’s been a bit goofy. But once you get into your room and get everything up there, it starts getting organized and everything becomes easier,” said student Holden Ragan.
Ragan says it was strange saying goodbye to his house in St. Helens in the morning, but he’s excited for his next adventure.
