OSUsed Store Sells Surplus Goods

OSUsedCORVALLIS, Ore. — Are you in the market for a TV or computer but don’t want to pay full price?

You may be after you learning about the OSUsed Store.

Every Wednesday, Oregon State University opens its OSUsed Store to the public. Most of the items are from the university. There are desks, chairs, filing cabinets, and even athletic gear from the athletic department.

“We keep it out of the landfill; that’s what we’re all about. And how do you do that? Sell it to somebody, give it to somebody; we do donations to nonprofits and state agencies. If we’re not selling something and somebody has a use for it, we’ll donate it,” said Steve Schofield, Warehouse Coordinator.

The surplus store is open on Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m, but on the first Wednesday of the month it goes from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
