Even though Christmas is over, you can still enjoy the holiday lights around town. Hop on the tour bus at Sam’s Tavern for their Wine, Dine and Lights Tour. You’ll first have dinner, then go wine tasting at B2, and then tour some of the area’s best holiday lights. Admission is $25.
The Eugene Opera is ending 2012 with an entertaining show The Pirates of Penzance. This show is perfect for the family. Performances happen Friday, Sunday and Monday at the Hult Center in Eugene. Ticket prices start at $31. Discounts are available.
Looking for a different way to enjoy the snow? How about snowshoeing? REI is teaching the basics of snowshoeing this Saturday night. After that, you’ll be ready for your next treck. The workshop is at 7 p.m. at REI on Lawrence Street in Eugene. Admission is free.
Here’s a fun way to ring in the new year. Head to the Eugene Hilton for their New Year’s Eve Party. There will be a buffet, dancing and music by the Swing Shift Big Band. That starts Monday at 7 pm. Admission is $15.
If your New Year’s resolution is to get in shape, start off right at the First Run. Register for the 5K run/walk or if you’re up for it–the 10K. Those happen at midnight on Monday and again Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Valley River Inn in Eugene. Admission is $15-$20.
