It’s time to pull out your best outfit and watch the 85th annual Academy Awards! KEZI is hosting an Oscar watch party at the Willamalane Adult Center in Springfield to fundraise for local parks and activities. There will be a no-host bar serving mocktails and wine. Doors open at 4 p.m. The Oscars begin at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $10. That includes appetizers. You can buy them online or at any Willamalane facility.
See some amazing basketball tricks Friday night. The Original Harlem Globetrotters are coming back to town. They’ll put on a great show at Matthew Knight Arena. Tickets are $24. The show is Friday at 7 p.m.
Celebrate Beatles singer George Harrison’s 70th birthday. Local musicians will play some of his best songs from his days with the Beatles and other collaborations. You’re asked to bring a $10 donation for the Egan Warming Center. The show starts Saturday at 8 p.m.
The central Oregon Coast comes alive during this weekend’s Newport Seafood and Wine Festival. Now through Sunday, you can get your fill of some of the best seafood and wine in the region. Day passes are available–starting at $7 or you can get a three-day pass weekend pass for $32.
The Oregon Logging Conference is also this weekend, and the kids are invited to some fun on Saturday’s Family Day. They’ll have competitions you can watch including chainsaw carving, log loading and more–and the kids can learn some fun things too. It’s free to the public on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
