This weekend, Springfield is hosting an interesting art event. It’s the Second Friday Dance Walk. Eugene ballet dancers will help create an InstaBallet at Springfield City Hall. Then they’ll lead a guided art tour and dance walk down Main Street along the way. The event starts at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
Soccer fans, you can meet the members of the Lane United Football Club. It’s the area’s new local semi-pro men’s soccer team. They’ll have a kids clinic, giveaways, prizes, and much more. It happens Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Willamalane Center for Sports and Recreation in Springfield.
Mother’s Day is this Sunday, and we have a couple things you can do with the mom in your life. Dandelions Flowers in Eugene is hosting its annual Make it for Mom event. Kids can make a bouquet for mom for free. They’re also collecting donations for the Relief Nursery.
You can also bring mom to the museum. The University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History welcomes moms and their families for free to enjoy the exhibits. That’s Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
And then there’s the mother of all color runs. Eugene Downtown Rotary Club is hosting its 5k Color Dash. The race starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Camp Harlow. Packet pick-up is at noon. Admission varies. Proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club.
