What are you up to this weekend? Need some ideas? Well look no further. KDUK’s Valerie Steele has a few ways you can enjoy your time on the town.
The University of Oregon Duck will be getting his morning exercise Saturday and you can join in, all for a good cause. The Run with the Duck includes a 5K walk, jog or run. Anyone can register, but if you are a president of anything–a club, civic organization, fan club–they want you to sign up your entire group! Proceeds benefit physical activity programs for the UO community. It happens Saturday at Hayward Field at 9 a.m. Registration is $15-$20, and it’s free for UO faculty, staff, and students.
Local artists will display their work during a unique digital art festival, (sub)Urban Projections. Saturday night at the alley across from the Amtrak station, art will be projected while the Eugene Contemporary Chamber Ensemble plays. It happens Saturday from 7-9 p.m. Admission is free.
Sunday is Veterans Day, and the Cascade Raptor Center wants to pay tribute all of our men and women in military service. So this Sunday, active and retired military and their families can get in for free. The Raptor Center in Eugene will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. General admission for everyone else is $4-$7.
Looking ahead to next weekend, tickets are still on sale for Stuff the McDonald. Rootdown will be playing, along with Boys like Girls and special guest Chris Wallace. The concert is Thursday, Nov. 15. Tickets are on sale at TicketsWest. Proceeds go to Food for Lane County. The concert kicks off KDUK’s Stuff the Bus weekend. Nov. 16 and 17, at Eugene and Springfield Walmart stores, we’ll be collecting new unwrapped toys and non-perishable food to donate to local families in need.
