Out and About: August 17-19

Some of country music’s biggest stars, including Sugarland, Martina McBride, The Band Perry and Trace Adkins, are coming the Willamette Valley this weekend for the Bi-Mart Willamette Country Music Festival. All the fun happens in Brownsville now until Sunday. Tickets are available at your local Bi-Mart store and also at the gate.

Enjoy the hot weather with some great BBQ and bluegrass music. The Alder Street All-Stars and Cascadia Folk Quartet will be playing. It all happens at Dorris Ranch in Springfield Friday night. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. The music start at 6:15 p.m. Admission is $15 at the gate.

Of course the Lane County Fair is this weekend. Get your fill of games, rides, music, fried food, and cute farm animals. It goes on now until Sunday at the Lane Events Center in Eugene. Admission is $6-$9. Kids 5 and under get in free.

Take in the scenic views of Willamette Valley wine country at this year’s Silvan Ridge Twilight 5. This 5K run winds through some great areas. Meet at Silvan Ridge Winery in Eugene Saturday night. It starts at 6 p.m. Admission is $20 in advance and $35 the day of.

Volleyball season is almost here, and to get in the spirit, the Oregon Ducks Volleyball Team will be hosting its alumni exhibition game this Saturday. It starts at 7 p.m. At Matthew Knight Arena. Admission is free.

Revamp your wardrobe all for a good cause. The Arc of Lane County is holding a women’s clothing swap. Bring clothes that you don’t want anymore and leave with a full bag of clothes that are “new to you”. Admission is $3. It happens Saturday from 6-9 p.m. at the Arc of Lane County on 42nd and “E” Street in Springfield.
