EUGENE, Ore. — The heat was on for a group called the Blazing Paddles Saturday. Over 20 tables were spread out across the Willamalane Adult Center in Springfield. Table tennis enthusiasts paired off to see who would be the 2014 Tournament Champ.

Players say it’s a hobby with several different benefits.

“Table tennis is like the game you can play all your life. There’s plenty of exercise and it’s good for your timing and coordination. It’s also been proven to be good for your brain,” says Ramon Borror with Blazing Paddles.

The group has several events outside this tournament for anyone who wants to join in the fun.
