Parade participants and spectators filled the streets of downtown Roseburg. Things kicked off near the corner of Jackson and Diamond Lake at the Douglas County Library.
This year the parade honored Native American veterans, choosing the group to serve as the grand marshals.
Veterans say they’re grateful for the recognition.
“We have Memorial Day that honors the ones who have passed, but it’s important for us to all get together because it’s a brotherhood and a sisterhood, and we have the community come out and thank us for what we’ve done,” said Terry Mooney, U.S. Navy Veteran.
Organizers of the parade say they may not be the biggest parade around, but they’re definitely one of the most spirited.
