The painting is the work of a Canadian artist, Cindy Chen. Her work was chosen from over a hundred different pieces submitted to the contest.
Isaac Marquez, Public Art Manager for the City of Eugene, says the art work is brightening up this part of Eugene.
“So here we have a parking garage and a blank slate, if you will, and we’ve adorned it with new art,” said Marquez.
The 16 foot piece is on display at the corner of 8th Avenue and Willamette Street.
Marquez says a new piece is chosen every year around May.
