Part of Highway Collapses into River

COOS COUNTY, Ore. — About 100-foot section of the Powers Highway collapsed into the the Coquille River in Coos County Sunday morning.

ODOT says the southbound lane collapsed and fell nearly 35 feet.

Motorists should expect brief delays while crews are at the site cleaning and repairing that stretch of road.

Because of the weather conditions, ODOT advises drivers on any roadway to travel with caution and watch for debris on the road.
