EUGENE, Ore. — A woman was hit by a van while crossing the street Thursday morning. She later died.
At about 8:40 a.m., Eugene police say she was walking west on 18th Avenue when she was hit by a full-size Chevy van that was going west on 18th Avenue and turning south onto Chambers Street.
Police say the driver was cooperative and he was not cited. They’re trying to determine if the woman’s death was related to the crash.
Officers have not released the woman’s identity and are still investigating the crash.
