LANE COUNTY, Ore. – Lane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death on Needham Road off of Lorane Highway south of Eugene. Investigators say one person is dead and another in the hospital.
The call came in around 7pm Friday night. Investigators say friends went to check on the residents at their home. They walked in to find the victims. Deputies say the property is very large and there are numerous homes and are bracing for a lengthy investigation.
“Right now were just trying to make sure there isn’t any other crime scene on the property and we want to make sure that everyone is ok,” said Sgt. Carrie Carver. “So were looking at multiple acres in the double digits.”
Deputies did not indicate a cause of death. However, they do not feel like anyone else is in danger. They have not yet released the name of the victims.

I am fairly certain that if they knew who these people were, they would have included that small detail in the article. I imagine that the sheriff’s office probably did not want to share the information until they had the family’s go-ahead, out of, you know, respect.
