Pickup Truck Crashes into Storefront

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A pickup truck crashed into a Dari Mart on B Street Friday morning.

Police say the wreck happened at about 9:30 when the truck’s driver, 26-year-old Steven Rosales, pulled into the parking lot and his foot slipped off the brake pedal, causing him to roll his car into the store’s front door. They say Rosales briefly left the scene to get his insurance information, then returned. Still, he was given a ticket for driving without insurance because police say that the information he provided wasn’t valid.

Springfield Police Sgt. Rich Charboneau says that crashes like these serve as cautionary reminders.

“Occasionally, people are in a hurry, especially in a place like Dari Mart where it’s usually grab-food-and-leave,” says Charboneau.  “But you just have to be careful that when you do park and you do pull in, you’re totally in control of your vehicle.”

No one was injured in the crash and the store remained open.

How about getting arrested for driving your car thru the front of a building? He could have very well run over a mother & child coming out the door. Are they trying to tell the public that this idiot is a victim, when we can all plainly see that he is the perpetrator?

His license should be yanked immediately and his car impounded. When you drive like this guy did, then you are a “clear & present danger” to the public at large and should be stopped.
