EUGENE, Ore. — Pints for passes began Sunday, a partnership between the Lane Blood Center and Lane County fair that will get you a free ticket to this year’s events. The Lane Blood Center said June 1st through the end of July anyone donating blood will get a one day pass to the fair.
This is the second year of this partnership. The blood center said all types of blood are needed during the summer when donations tend to be a bit low. “O positive and A positive are the most common blood types. So those are types that we need very often. O negative is the universal donor and we need a lot of O negative as well and Type B is really rare,” said Kristi McElhinney, Lane Blood Center Spokesperson.
Last year around 1500 people donated blood during this two month period.
