PLEASANT HILL, Ore. — Students in Pleasant Hill are still riding the high of a huge win in a robotics competition over the weekend.

The Gromit’s Grommets say their victory is a real Cinderella story.

This may have just been the school’s first year participating in the competition. Not only did it manage to take first, but it also made history as the first non-Portland school to ever take home the trophy.

The team will head to Sacramento, California next for the super-regional competition.

Middle school and high school students also placed first this weekend in the state chess tournaments.
