Pole Creek Fire Contained

SISTERS, Ore. — The Pole Creek Wildfire is now contained.

Containment means there is a fire line completely around the fire.

The Sisters Fairgrounds base camp is closed up and the fire has been turned over from an interagency team back to the ranger district. Soon the rehabilitation work begins.

“Placing logs and rocks and that type of thing. It’s primarily to manage the prevention of erosion on the service and allow plants to get reestablished,” said Glen Scahet, Forest Service Region 6 Issues manager.

All public closures remain in place until the fire is put out.
