Police and Deputies Search for Inmate

BEND, Ore. – Oregon State Police and the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office are searching for an inmate that walked away from a work crew.

Law enforcement officials say around 2 p.m. Jason Michael Donaldson, 36, walked away from an Oregon Department of Correction work crew, clearing debris at Shevlin Park.

Donaldson, an inmate at Deer Ridge Correctional Institution in Madras, was working on a ten-man crew at the Phil’s Trailhead, when staff discovered he was missing.

Donaldson is described as white, 175 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with the word “inmate” and the DOC logo stenciled on the knee in orange; a long-sleeved orange t-shirt with the word “inmate” and the DOC logo stenciled in blue on the front and back; and a blue t-shirt similarly stenciled in orange underneath.

Donaldson was arrested in December on three counts of theft in the first degree, three counts of burglary in the second degree, and one count of criminal mischief in the first degree.
