EUGENE, Ore. — A short police pursuit ended at Skinner Butte Park around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday. It started when police attempted to pull over a reported stolen vehicle driving on Coburg Road near I-105. Police tried to initiate a stop, but the car would not pull over.
“At some point the vehicle impacts a control vehicle of ours, disables that vehicle, gets futher down Coburg Road and comes into Skinner Butte Park,” says Lieutenant Bill Solesbee.
Police say a passenger got out of the car while it was moving, then the driver got out as the car went over an embankment in the park. A preliminary search of the car found ammunition, several guns and items appearing to be from burglaries. EPD arrested Anthony Waine Teal at the scene.
This is still a developing story, we’ll have more information as it becomes available.
