EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Police remain tight lipped while investigating a death in the West Eugene area. Officers say the first call came in just after 5 p.m. on Monday of a suspicious death west of Beltline Highway and just north of Barger.
Neighbors tell KEZI 9 News that at least four police cars surrounded the home in the 2500 block of Melrose Loop to investigate the death of a 46-year-old woman who lived there. A neighbor and friend of the woman says she noticed belongings in the driveway Monday evening with a sign that read, “Free stuff.” She says it was very odd and so, they decided to check on her.
“My husband and a neighbor went over there to take a look and they saw some blood and the door had been forced open, or at least it looked that way and they saw more blood in the hallway,” says neighbor Dee Cuff.
Police are still investigating and have not yet released the woman’s name.
