SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — The Springfield Justice Center is holding its annual open house Saturday morning.
Last year, 800 to 900 showed up. Starting at 10 a.m, folks will have the opportunity to tour the department and its different vehicles. The department says it’s a family-friendly event and a great chance to interact with the public and for both sides to get to know each other better.
“It’s good for us and it’s good for the citizens. They get to see us in a different light and see what it is that we do and all the different ways that we do it. I think it’s a good thing,” said Sgt. Richard Lewis, Springfield Police Department.
The open house will last until 2 p.m. The department has been doing this for the last eight years and encourages everyone to come check them out. The center is located at 230 4th Street.
