EUGENE, Ore.– Eugene police say they have ended a flasher’s nine month crime spree. They say the suspected flasher has been terrorizing women in the downtown and Whitaker areas.
“He would get somebody’s attention and expose himself and gratify himself for his own pleasure,” said Melinda McLaughlin of the Eugene Police Department.
Incidents date back to November of last year. Police say he struck at various times of the day and night. All of his victims have been women between the ages of 21 and 90 years old.
“That’s 9 months of someone violating our space and doing something really frightening and wrong, so that’s scary,” said Eugene resident Erin Fogerty.
In one incident, police say he exposed and fondled himself in front of a woman sitting inside her car. Investigators say five victims have come forward, but they fear there may be more out there. Police urge additional victims to come forward.
Because the investigation is still ongoing police are not releasing the suspect’s picture or name. He has been charged with six counts of public indecency and one count of private indecency.
