Police Investigate Possible Abduction

EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene police are still investigating whether a possible kidnapping at a local high school was real or a prank.

The suspected abduction happened Thursday evening at South Eugene High School.

Officers say they received a call from a witness shortly after 5 p.m. that a white Chevy Blazer sped into the northeast parking lot. Three men jumped out, placed a white hood over a teenager, carried him into the vehicle and then sped off.

No one else has come forward about the incident and there is no missing person report. But police are still taking this incident seriously.

“With a possible abduction you want to hit all the bases on that, not knowing what it is, not having further information complicates that. So at this point we don’t know if it was an acutal abduction or if kids were playing with one of their friends,” said Melinda McLaughlin, EPD spokesperson.

The victim is described as a six-foot male with a white jacket and jeans.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Eugene Police Department.
