Amber Alert Canceled; Toddler Found Safe

GRESHAM, Ore. — Gresham Police canceled and deactivated a state-wide Amber Alert Saturday evening after a shooting suspect was taken into custody and his 2-year-old daughter was found safe.

Police say 36-year-old Joshua Cavett was a suspect in a  shooting incident at a Gresham-area apartment. Just after 11:30 a.m., Police were called to Holly Ridge apartments on reports of a person shot. Officers say they found a woman inside with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a Portland hospital with a life threatening injury.

Police say Joshua Cavett is the child’s biological father but doesn’t have custody of her.

Cavett was described having numerous tattoos, including ones on his face and neck.  He was last seen carrying a backpack and wearing a black, puffy coat and dark, baggy pants.

What was with this Amber alert? It sure was lame. No pictures of the alleged abductor, the vehicle he was driving, no details that would help the public at all! Comcast just went blank and said there was an alert and the time and date of it. If you’re wanting to enlist the help of the public, then at least give us some useful information for Pete’s sake!!!

i was watching opb yesterday when the amber alert came across. They were very specific on all of the detail’s. Even the vehicle type and color, along with license plate number. I blame comcast for the lack of info.
