Police say a 20 year-old woman was walking home near 12th and G Street around 9 p.m. Saturday night when a dark blue Cadillac pulled up next to her and the men inside asked her if she wanted to party.
The victim says she said “no” and that’s when she says they tried to pull her in the car.
She was able to get away.
Police say it’s important to always be on the lookout.
“Everyone needs to realize when they’re walking home either early in the evening or late at night or any time for that matter is to be aware of their surroundings and be aware of people who appear to be watching or following them,” said Sgt. Dave Lewis, Springfield Police Spokesman.
Police met with the victim Monday afternoon for any information that might help in the investigation.
