Police Officer Impersonator Arrested

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Springfield Police arrested a man accused of impersonating a police officer. Police located Travis Lee Riley, 29,¬†of Junction City, on Wednesday.

On July 18, Springfield Police responded to calls from Gateway Mall reporting that a man had approached at least one individual and displayed a badge and handgun. The suspect told the individual he was an undercover police officer and that he was looking for lost or stolen property.

Riley was arrested for Impersonating a Police Officer and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and is lodged in the Lane County Jail. He also faces theft and burglary charges from the Lane County Sheriff’s Department for two unrelated incidents.
