EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Police and OSP are enhancing patrols Monday night to keep streets safer this New Year’s Eve.
EPD says it will concentrate its efforts on areas where most of the celebrating occurs, for instance at the downtown bars. Both agencies will also be stepping up the DUII saturation patrols.
“There will be officers specifically looking for behaviors related to and associated with with people driving while impaired, so they will be focussing on looking for those indicators that someone is driving while impaired,” said Sgt. David Natt, Eugene Police Department.
Police recommend getting a hotel room, a designated driver or calling a cab.
