SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Police have released the cause of a young Eugene woman’s death, after her boyfriend was arrested for her murder.

Springfield police say 26-year-old Casey Wright died of blunt force trauma to the head, believed to be caused by a baseball bat.

Wright’s boyfriend 32-year-old Robert Cromwell, of Springfield, reportedly walked into the emergency room at the McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center early Saturday morning and told hospital staff he killed his girlfriend. He is lodged in the Lane County Jail and faces murder charges.
