Walmart Shooting Suspects in Custody

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. —  Springfield Police caught both suspects they believe were involved in a  shooting in the Walmart parking lot on Olympic Street Saturday afternoon.

Police say one person was shot and is in the hospital in serious condition. Officers say they don’t know if the victim will make it.

Officers say two groups of young people got in a dispute in the  parking lot before the shooting. Two suspects fled the scene. One was caught near W. N Street and Prescott. The other was found nearby later behind a home hiding in a shed thanks to a Springfield K-9 unit. The weapon was found in an alley around the same area.

Eugene Police and Oregon State Police assisted in the search.
