Police Seek Driver in I-5 Hit-and-Run

ROSEBURG, Ore. — Oregon State Police are still looking for the driver of the commercial truck that hit a pedestrian early Thursday morning.

Police say that Gabriel Johnson was walking on the southbound shoulder of Interstate 5  between 2 and 3 a.m. when a commercial truck pulling a semi-trailer hit him. The truck also struck the center concrete barrier, then continued southbound without stopping. Johnson was critically injured and taken first to Mercy Medical Center, then transported by air to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend.

OSP says that the truck may have fresh damage to its front driver side, but otherwise, there is no confirmed color or other description.

If you have any information about the case, please contact OSP’s Southern Command Center dispatch.
