EUGENE, Ore. — School violence–it seems like we hear about it all the time these days. That’s why local law enforcement agencies are teaming up and inviting the public to learn about public safety.
Lane County law enforcement officials are inviting the public to a forum next Wednesday called School Safety and Dangerous Acts of Violence.
A panel of police chiefs, sergeants, and lieutenants will discuss how to safeguard schools and be prepared for any dangerous situations.
Lane County Sheriff Tom Turner is moderating the forum and believes the discussions will help educate everyone.
“It’s a great opportunity to be able to interact and talk about the issues going on with school violence in our schools today across the country, not just here, and the opportunity to hear what’s going on with the public safety services,” Turner said.
The forum is from 3-5 p.m. on Feb. 26 at Northwest Christian University.
