JUNCTION CITY, Ore. — Employees at the Max Strauss Pool say they want to show their gratitude to the community for a great summer.
On Friday, all admissions will be donated to Oklea Middle School and Laurel Elementary, which is right next door. Staff there say it’s a tremendous effort that truly illustrates the desire of community members and businesses to help each other out.
“We’ve worked closely with the pool over the years here at Laurel,” says Principal Bill Bechen. “We have a swim week each spring and they work with us and we staff and it’s safe for the kids. They get instruction and swimming and this just goes above and beyond.”
The pool will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. with recreational swim hours between noon and 4. Admission price varies from $2 to $4.50 depending on age and whether or not visitors are Junction City residents. The pool will also be collecting school supply donations all day, which will be divided between Oklea and Laurel.
