SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — An emergency shut-off switch was triggered early Wednesday morning in Springfield, shutting down power for 9,000 customers. Homes and businesses from 42nd Street and Main east, along with other isolated areas, were without power starting near 6:30 a.m.
Springfield Utility Board says they re-routed power and had 6,000 customers restored by 7 a.m. They were working to have all electricity back on-line by 8 a.m.
SUB utility crews rerouted power as a quick fix, but the cause of the outage is still under investigation.
