CORVALLIS, Ore. — A broken insulator caused a power outage that left more than 12,000 people in the dark Monday morning.
The piece fell around 6:20 a.m. and took some wires with it.
Crews spent several hours repairing the damage near the 400 block of Buchannon. They shut off all of the lines connected to the area to figure out where the problem was.
“If we have an issue with a line, it will blink three times and then the power actually goes out, because we want to make sure that it’s safe for our customers and employees working out in the field,” said Doris Johnston, Pacific Power Regional Manager.
Power was restored around 11 a.m.
