(CNN) — There were no Powerball jackpot winners over the weekend, so the pot has ballooned to a whopping $400 million. That’s the third highest amount ever.
Every time it rolls over, the jackpot increases by at least $10 million.
The $400 million jackpot is equal to $230.3 million in cash if the winner chooses the cash payout. The other option is an annuity, but no one has selected that in the last several years.
To get the jackpot the winner has to draw six numbers that match all six numbers selected randomly by the lottery system. There is, however, a smaller prize.
This prize is $1 million or $10,000, depending on whether the Powerball is included in those five numbers. The next scheduled drawing is Wednesday.
