Thursday was phase two of the project that includes repaving some areas and putting in new benches.
The Springfield Education Foundation is leading the charge, but some former students are also getting their hands dirty.
“School budgets just don’t have this kind of funding for landscape like this, and our schools need some extra love and care, and it’s great to tie the community and students together to do that,” said Ronnel Curry, Springfield Rotarian.
Local business and Rotarians donated most of the materials.
Organizers are expecting to bust through the second phase by Friday.
