Meteorologist Marisa Woloszyn’s Forecast Discussion:

A Flood Warning continues for the Coquille River at Coquille. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 p.m. Sunday for Douglas County above 2000 ft.

Scattered rain and snow showers continue Sunday night, but will end around 4 a.m. We will be in between systems Monday, meaning dry conditions Christmas Eve. High temperatures will be in the low 40s with lows in the mid 30s.

Heavy rain, snow and windy weather quickly returns Monday night as a strong front swings through. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the western slopes of the Cascades from Monday night through Tuesday night. Snow levels will be at the surface Monday night and rise to 3,000 ft by Tuesday night. New snow accumulation is expected to be 8-14 inches.

The rest of the week will be a toss up and will depend on the placement of the next system. So far the forecast is trending to be mostly cloudy with a chance for a few showers.
