EUGENE, Ore. — Labor Day weekend is the last hurrah before school starts.
If you’re looking for a fun and educational family outing, head to the Cascades Raptor Center.
Family Nature Discovery Day is the last Sunday of the month through September.
There are over 50 non-releasable birds to visit, plus activities where they can play scientists and dissect owl pellets.
Kids can play scientists while dissecting owl pellets.
“A lot of times we find kids love this place because they’ve been here on a school trip, and now they get to bring their parents and share,” said Louise Shimmel, executive director of Cascades Raptor Center.
Another activity for kids is making owls from pine cones.
Family Nature Discovery Day is Sunday from noon until 4 p.m. The raptor center is located at 32275 Fox Hollow Rd., Eugene, OR.
