Daniel McTavish and Addison Stern are just a year out of University of Oregon business school but they say they’re ready to jump into the Eugene craft beer scene.
They’re brewing what they call the next level of craft beers, a blend of mead or honey wine and beer. They call them braggots.
The Viking Braggot Company had their soft opening Friday night.
The owners say they’re looking to gain the same momentum as some of the other local breweries in the area by adding a personal touch to their service.
“In a brewery industry like this it’s like it’s all about making those personal connections with the people you’re going to get out there in the bars and restaurants and just you know being the face of the company and really interacting with people has been amazing,” said McTavish, co-owner.
Their grand opening is June 28th from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. they’ll have live music and tastings of their three types of braggots.
