Relief Nursery Receives New Van

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A local nonprofit is driving around in a new ride thanks to a generous donation.

Northwest Community Credit Union gave a brand new minivan to the new Springfield location of the Relief Nursery, a nonprofit child abuse and neglect prevention agency.

The relief nursery says transportation was an unmet need for families who rely on the services of the nursery.

“We provide services here at the nursery at our facility here in Springfield and our facility in Eugene. And if we can’t get the children here and we can’t get the parents here, we can’t help them,” said Kelly Sutherland, Relief Nursery Executive Director.

Sutherland says the nursery has buses, but it’s hard to transport infants in them. She says the van will be a big help to their in-home services.
