EUGENE, Ore. — Chip Kelly will stay at Oregon instead of taking an NFL job, according Oregon Athletic Director Rob Mullens.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the story. Schefter broke the news on Twitter just before 8 p.m. Sunday.
Schefter tweeted: “Chip Kelly turned down a chance to go to the NFL and to returned to Oregon, according to sources. Considered Eagles but stayed at Oregon.”
Kelly arrived at the college coaches convention in Nashville Sunday night, according to Sports Illustrated‘s Pete Thamel.
