Report: Kelly, Browns “Close to Deal”

EUGENE, Ore.– According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Chip Kelly is “close to a deal” that would make him the head coach of the Cleveland Browns.

Kelly interviewed with Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and CEO Joe Banner Friday afternoon in Arizona.

After the Ducks 35-17 win over Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl that he wanted to “get [a decision] wrapped up quickly and figure out where I’m going to be.”

Nothing has been finalized yet, and the terms of the reported deal have not been made public.

Kelly is 46-7 in his four seasons coaching the Ducks.
