EUGENE, Ore. — Lane County Republicans say they’re not holding a watch party for the first presidential debate, saying individualism is a key part of their views and they can watch it in their homes. But they say they will be watching.
The group says the most pertinent discussions relating to Lane County are on the economy and job creation. They hope that will be the focus Wednesday night.
Lane County Republicans say both Republican candidate Mitt Romney and President Obama need to make their goals clear during the debate.
“I hear Obama saying, Romney stands for this, well Obama better be telling me what he stands for and not what the other guy stands for. Because I haven’t heard from either on really, a clear, concise message,” said Charles Moss, Lane County Republicans Treasurer.
They also hope an energy policy that addresses the sky high gas prices makes a presence.
