Reward Offered in Illegal Elk Shooting

COOS BAY, Ore– Oregon State Police is offering a $500 reward for anyone with information to an illegal elk shooting near Coos Bay.

Troopers say a resident had an exchange with a bow hunter on Coos Sumner Lane near milepost 5 Saturday night. Shortly after, a herd of elk ran out of a private pasture. The same bow hunter was standing next to an injured cow elk that had been hit with an arrow. The resident tried to confront the hunter, but he fled in a navy blue 2000 GMC Yukon.

The man is described as white, in his early 20′s, 6 feet tall, with brown curly hair and wearing camouflage.
