EUGENE, Ore. — Schools around the country celebrated Teacher Appreciation Day Tuesday. Many of them spread the celebration into a whole week of teacher pampering, like at Ridgeline Elementary in Eugene.
Students and their families are bringing in different gifts each day of the week.
On Tuesday, teachers received potted plants and a free massage courtesy of a parent volunteer.
“It makes us feel like the work we put into this is really worth it, and it is anyway, but it’s so nice to have the families and the kids come to us and say thank you for being great teachers,” said Ridgeline teacher Cheri Spies.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of Teacher Day.
