EUGENE, Ore. — Work will start Monday, August 27th to resurface the West Bank Path between the Greenway Bridge and Stephens Drive. The current asphalt path will be resurfaced with concrete and several crumbling section near Maurie Jacobs Park will be replaced.
Construction is estimated to take eight weeks, during which the path will be closed. Cyclists and other users of the West Bank Path can uses the East Bank Path, across the Willamette River, to detour the construction. The Owosso Bridge, Greenway Bridge or the sidewalks and bike lanes along River Road can be used to cross the river.
The City of Eugene hired Brown Contracting of Eugene to work on the path and funding for the estimated $425,000 project is from the 2008 bond measure, approved by voters, to fix streets and bike paths.
