Rollover Crash Causes Delays on I-5

EUGENE, Ore. — Emergency crews helped pull a man from a rollover crash on I-5 north of Beltline Tuesday afternoon.

Troopers say the driver of a truck hauling a trailer lost control on the interstate and started to fishtail. The truck ended up on its top, crushing about half of the cab.

“They just saw the trailer start whipping around on him and eventually the trailer jack-knifed and flipped over and just took the truck over with it,” said Sr. Trooper Rick Hamilton, Oregon State Police.

Emergency crews took the victim to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers briefly closed the freeway and eventually redirected traffic to the shoulder.
